Help sought with an MG30 – south of France

I have received an appeal as show below, where you can also see my reply.  Any response via me, please, as Bernard is not registered with this site.

Message to Owners of Morgan Giles 30

Owner of a MG30 built 1972, I’m 70 years old now and a little bit tired…
My boat needs a lot of works inside and outside. The hull is still perfect but the deck, made by non professional people, is more tired as I am and must be rebuilt.
The rig is to be refitted too.
Inside, quiet everything must be done. The YSE8 Yanmar diesel is old and tired too.
My boat is laying now in La Seyne sur Mer near Toulon in south of France.
So, if some readers of this mail is able to give a good sound advice it will be welcome.
Except throwing her away, I do not know what to do. I’m very sad.
Avec mes meilleures salutations marines et mes excuses pour mon anglais approximatif !!

Tony responded:

Hello Bernard…

I will post your message and this reply as a blog entry on the web site – but I suspect you are unlikely to get any helpful response.  Most MG30 owners have enough to do on their own boat, rather than taking on others, especially when there is a lot to do.

I was not aware of Svena before, and suggest you complete the registration form on the web site (available here).  She will then be entered in the class register, whatever the future holds.

I am sorry I cannot be of more help.
Tony
