Gary introduces Lola

Ahoy to all fellow MG30 owners,

My name is Gary and I’ve owned Lola since April 2004. She is currently kept on a swinging mooring at Hayling Island in Chichester Harbour, although I shall most probably move her further West next season.

Lola was built by a Mr J.M.Crabtree of Williton, Somerset between 1978-80 and was moored on the River Exe. Ownership transferred to Mr. John Francis Ordish Snell in 1995, who kept her at Chichester and then Langstone Harbours.

Lola is largely original apart from a new engine fitted circa 1995 by Cutler Marine Ltd and a new new furling forsail. Like all MG30’s she is a dream to sail, but a nightmare to reverse in close quarters !!

Happy Sailing !

Regards, Gary Carey

    Hello Gary,
Welcome aboard, I never realised that there were so many MG30s in and around the Solent. I will be keeping a eye out for you and Lola, I hope that you enjoy the rest of the season,
    regards, Adrian “Delphinus”
