One consequence of my planned sale of Santana is that I would like to
hand on the ownership and management of the MG30 web site and register
and of this eList group.
(1) This Google group is very simple to administer and run – you just
need a web browser, some basic skills and fairly good English.
(2) The web site and register was created using iWeb on an Apple Mac.
To take it over as is, you would need a Mac. But it could of course
be ported to some other system. I would be happy to give technical
help and advice on that.
The two functions could be run by separate people, or by the same
person. I am willing to provide support and advice for a while.
Anyone interested please contact me.
Tony
Hello chaps,
Tony, very sorry to see you leaving the group, I often recall the evening you called to my home and we looked at data on our respective craft. I believe you carried out an excellent job in forming this group and bringing us all together. Also the initial research was fantastic.
Gary, well done for stepping in, I am sure we will all do our best to support you and follow your lead in the future. Thank you.
Best regards,
Paul Chapman, Grampus.
Hi Tony,
Sorry to see you moving on, but I can fully understand your need for more space if you are going to live on board for 6 months a year. As lovely as the MG is, she certainly starts to feel cramped once you get kids on board!
I would be happy to take over the reins of the MG30 web site and register, that is of course unless I’ve been beaten to the post! I run a Macbook pro , so compatibility would not be a problem.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Best wishes,
Gary
Gary…
That would be great. I am so pleased and relieved that you have
volunteered. I am just about to set off for the yard to take the
covers off Santana and start preparing her for the season, but I will
be back in touch off-list in a while. I would like to defer actual
hand-over of the MG30 web site until Santana is sold, as I have added
the ‘for sale’ pages as a sub-section of the site and need to retain
access for now.
I am a regular visitor to Portsmouth these days, so we could perhaps
meet up to do the hand-over in person when the time comes.
regards
Tony
Thanks Tony,
I fully understand that you would not wish to hand over the group until your baby is sold.
Hopefully her buyer will also join the list and you/they will allow us to keep some of your excellent informative photographs up on the site for reference.
We can agree a time and location to handover at a later date.
Best wishes,
Gary
Well done Gary, best wishes from North of the Border.
